What happens in the first visit?

Your first visit is all about you. Your dietitian will take the time to learn about you and your unique body, lifestyle, goals, and what’s been challenging — this is the most important session and helps us determine what approach will work best for you.

DO NOT expect a meal plan, a magic meal, or the perfect outcome in your first session. DO expect to be listened to, receive high-level education, and be gently guided towards your goals.

Knowing what to do and actually doing it can be two different things. This is where follow-up sessions come in - after your initial visit, your dietitian creates a personalized medical nutrition therapy plan that outlines how we’ll work toward your goals realistically and sustainably.

FOLLOW-UP VISITS focus on nutrition education, implementation, and obstacle management — things like stress, meal planning, emotional eating, lab review, and adjusting your plan as your needs change. How many you need completely depends on your unique case. Creating real change in your life takes time.

THEN...

At times, short-term focused programs such as an accountability sprint or wearing a continuous glucose monitor may be helpful for specific goals or needs. These options are offered intentionally and only when the timing makes sense for you.

We’ll help guide that decision together.

What Happens After Your First Visit?

After years of dealing with digetsive issues and basically being given up on by my Gastro Doc I sought the help of a nutritionist. I am very impressed with the service I have received from SDG

- B.P.

What stood out to me most was how she helped me be kinder to myself while making changes to my diet. Instead of quick fixes or guilt-driven advice, she focused on creating realistic strategies that actually work in day-to-day life.

- K.M.

I am also happy to report that through my work at SDG I’m down 11lbs as of this year. I have found community, and I have a much healthier relationship with my body and food

You don’t need a perfect plan or all the answers to get started.
One clear next step is enough.

We’ll help guide the rest.

Initial Consultations are $175.

45-60 minute follow-ups are $125.

30-minute follow-ups are $75.
The number of visits depends on your individual needs and goals.

Your initial visit focuses on understanding your health history, priorities, and goals so we can create a personalized medical nutrition therapy plan tailored to you.

Follow-up visits are used as needed for questions, problem-solving (such as stress, emotional eating, or skill-building like meal planning), reviewing labs, and adjusting your plan over time.

Yes — meal planning can be part of your care, when and if it’s helpful.

We don’t create a full meal plan during the first visit because that session is focused on understanding your unique needs, goals, preferences, medical history, and lifestyle. Creating a plan before we have that context wouldn’t be truly personalized or effective.

When meal planning is appropriate, we use free AI-based meal planning tools rather than paid software. This allows us to keep meal planning accessible at no additional cost to you. It also reflects what we see clinically — many people don’t consistently follow rigid meal plans, so we focus on flexible tools and skills that are easier to use in real life.

Our goal is to support you in a way that’s practical, sustainable, and tailored to you — not just to hand you a plan.
